We made it!! August seems like a long time ago. It has been an action-packed first term in 1BeM, full of exciting happenings, lots of laughter and, hopefully, a whole heap of learning too. The children have really come together as a learning community and many lovely friendships have been established across the class. Ida and I feel very privileged to be able to spend time with 1BeM (most of the time!) and we think our class is a very exciting place to be.
This week was a lovely end to the year. Tuesday's visit from our Happy Lodge friends was just lovely. The residents had SUCH a great time and we really put a smile on their faces. The highlight for 1BeM though was the circus performance and, more specifically, the knife juggler!
A huge thank you to Ayesha (Zara's mum) and her army of colleagues who joined us on Thursday morning for an "Hour of Code" as part of the global "Week of Coding" initiative. The children had a fantastic time naming and reimagining their own real life robots and then programming them to navigate different obstacles. It was fascinating to watch and a real eye opener as to the possibilities of coding to enhance learning in the early years...and it was lots of fun too!
Our disco on Thursday afternoon was a lot of fun...albeit a bit sweaty! The children had a great time dancing/running around in the hall and, of course, at our very own 1BeM holiday party afterwards. Thank you to Liz (Toby's mum) for all her help in setting everything up and for sharing her favourite family story and the snowman game! It was also lovely that Lana, our Boarder Buddy, was able to join us.
For those of you who are celebrating over the holidays, we wish you a very Merry Chrimbo...and to all of you, a safe and restful break full of family, friends and (unhealthy!) food.
